Medical services in rural Liberia
Yarbayah Clinic

This clinic has a registration, a screener room, a pharmacy, a triage room, an infection house, a mid-wive room, and a waiting room. There is a toilet, a water source and a kitchen. Eight volunteers work in this Clinic. We plan to refurbish the old building an kitchen area.

Mawah clinic

This clinic has two registration rooms, three screener rooms, a pharmacy, a triage room, two mid-wive rooms and two waiting rooms. There is also a toilet and and water tank. Eight volunteers work in this Clinic. The planned improvements are a hand pump for fresh water, a new registration room and a new store room.

Education sponsorships

Volunteer development is supported in various fields to support the clinics and the community. For example, Victoria Tagbayoung becomes as nurse.


Liberian Vice President donates a motorbike

Help Liberia works closely with the Liberian Health authorities. For example, supporting vaccination, birth control and ebola information drives. Travel in Liberia is difficult in the dry season and almost impossible in the wet season. The donate motorbike will help the operation of the clinics.

The Mawah clinic is unable to handle the increased number of patients. New registry, waiting areas and screening room are being built.

Malaria poses a huge health problem in Liberia. The clinics offer rapid test to identify where to apply suitable treatment.
Isolation rooms

Liberia has very contagiuos diseases, such as Ebola, and this means isolation rooms are required to limit the spread when these diseases are indeitified.
New pharmacies

Medication is scarce in Liberia and the Clinics offer a good selection free of charge. Medication is expensive and therefore very good control is critical

Elephantitus can be easily treated with the correct medication

Hyperkeratosis: after years of intensive treatment attempts, we were able to remove the centimetre high calluses from Moses' feet. We brought cortisone cream and now, after years, Moses can finally reach and open his hands!
