Why do we exist?

The small West African country of Liberia had been in civil war for many years. Thousands of people are left with little more than hope, even with the simplest of illnesses and injuries.

We would like to guarantee access to medication and simple medical care!

This is the vision expressed by "Kpon Ma" in our name, which in Kpelle simply means "help me!". Rainforests, rivers and high rainfall make malaria fever is omnipresent. Every fifth child does not survive to the age of five and every birth risks the mother of dying from hemorrhage or lack of hygiene.

We are therefore providing a point of contact for the rural population who suffers most from the lack of medical care.

We run two small clinics deep in the bush. A total of 19 local helpers work there on the weekly market day. They regulate access, register according to local law, examine patients medically and can even perform minor surgical wound care.

Midwives are on site to examine and advise pregnant women. Every month, we offer birth control and immunizations such as tetanus and polio. All of this is provided free of charge with only a regulated small fee.
We provide the best quality medicines, which have been tested by the state government, from one of the largest pharmacists in the capital.
